By Media Relations Office

On Tuesday, February 13, 2023, the TCSA: Connect initiative, which stands for Tea and Coffee Session with the Administrators, was officially launched at BulSU. The initiative aims to foster better communication and collaboration between the university administration and various university stakeholders, starting with the students through the Student Government.

During the session, the University President, Dr. Teody C. San Andres, expressed his gratitude towards the Student Government, headed by Student Regent Arianna Marie de Jesus, for their attendance and support. He acknowledged the student leaders' contributions to the university's celebrations, such as their strong support during the President’s solemn investiture, the university foundation week, and the Peace Advocacy Tour of Commissioner Adamat, among others. Pres. San Andres commended the SG's efficiency and good leadership qualities as student-leaders, highlighting their cooperation in various SG initiatives and LSC programs that cater to students' needs.

President San Andres also shared the updates on the developments and changes that the current administration has implemented for the benefit of the students. These include revised admission requirements, an enhanced Office of Culture and Arts, a common publication office at Roxas Hall, the renovation of the Student Government Office, the construction of covered pathways in all campuses, spiritual and leadership training for student-leaders and students, and administrative support for the SG’s Rainbow Lane or the Kasali Lahat project for a more inclusive environment for students.

After the President's message, the student representatives were given the opportunity to share their best practices in leading the SG and LSC’s. They emphasized the importance of clear and genuine communication as the key to fruitful leadership. The student leaders also raised various issues and concerns that the administration should address, such as the SG's proposal for the upcoming graduation rites, classroom renovation, and strengthened recognition of student-athletes and competitors, among others. President San Andres assured the student leaders that every concern will be addressed immediately.

The first leg of TCSA: Connect will be followed by a session with the officials of the Faculty Union along with the local FAU representatives later this month. TCSA: Connect is an initiative by the University President that aims to promote open communication and collaboration between the university administration and stakeholders to ensure a more transparent and inclusive Bulacan State University.
