Under the theme 'Ani ng Sining, Bayang Malikhain,' the celebration aimed to promote artistic excellence and highlight the significance of art in the cultural identity of Filipinos.

Present at the event were students, organizers, and faculty members of CAL spearheaded by its Dean, Dr. Maria S. Bulaong, who not only graced the event with her presence but also delivered a short poem for the students entitled 'Kayo,' referring to them as the art —'Kayo ang Sining.'

Meanwhile, when asked about the importance of the Arts Month celebration, the organizer of the event's dramatology, Mr. Angelo Santos emphasized that it is essential to partake in the event and bring its core idea to the masses. Enhancing the people's understanding of the essence of art will preserve the nation's arts and ensure they are not consigned to oblivion.

"Ang sining ay hindi lang bahagi ng damdamin kundi bahagi rin ng pang-araw-araw na pag-iral natin, ng ating mga karanasan, emosyon, talino, at iba pang identidad bilang isang nasyon," Santos added.

The event kicked off with a theatrical act by the Huni Guild of Sining Sakbibi Ensemble (SSE) from the Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPeA). The act conveyed a multitude of messages and explored various themes such as the extensive use of smartphones, symbolizing their pervasive influence as a 'double-edged sword.' It also delved into the use of music and arts as tools that can be wielded during a revolution. Moreover, the performers delivered an interpretive dance exploring gender expression, accompanied by spoken poetry as its background.

This year's ANS celebration will continue until Friday, March 8 and will feature various programs and activities organized by CAL-founded and based organizations and publications.
