The Revival of Theater: BulSU inks MoA with Original Pilipino Performing Arts, Inc.

Bulacan State University - College of Arts and Letters (BulSU-CAL) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Original Pilipino Performing Arts, Inc. (OPPA) for a scholarship program for the Performing Arts Students of BulSU-CAL, at the Sheraton Hotel Conference Room, Pasay, Manila, last November 9, 2023.

Representing BulSU was the University President Dr. Teody C. San Andres, accompanied by the BulSU-CAL Dean Prof. Maria S. Bulaong, CAL College Secretary Ms. Chazeline Caberos-Bautista, Mass Communication and Performing Arts Department Chair Ms. Lois Ruth Villavicencio, and CAL Faculty Ms. Maria Carmela de Borja.

Meanwhile, the delegation from OPPA was led by Mr. Kingson Sian, President and CEO of the Travellers Hotel Group (New World Resorts), together with OPPA, Inc. Executive Director, Mr. Joee Guilas, Members of the OPPA, Inc. Board of Trustees Ms. Menchu Lauchenco-Yulo and Mr. Michael Stuart Williams, and Executive Director of the Newport World Resorts Foundations, Inc. Atty. Walter L. Mactal.

The provisions of the agreement include a monthly allowance of Php 10,000, on top of the tuition fee coverage, for the Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPeA) students who will successfully pass the screening process.

The scholarship program is currently exclusive for the BPeA students of BulSU-CAL but is open to any number of students from the program; it is set to be implemented upon the beginning of the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024.

This partnership was established through the initiative of BulSU Alumna Ms. Kenny Delos Santos.
