DILG Visits BulSU, Hatches Future Plans

The Department of the Interior and Local Government Region III (DILG-III) Director paid a courtesy visit to the President of Bulacan State University, June 27, 2023.

The DILG-III delegation was led by Regional Director Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda, accompanied by Mr. Lee Allen Pineda, LGOO II, Mr. Erixburg Calilong, and Mr. Jeff Sarmiento.

Together, the team met with BulSU President Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero-Gascon at the University Boardroom. The president was accompanied by Dr. Mary Ann P. Carranza, Executive Director for External Relations and Internationalization, Dr. Jenina Tongol, Manager of the BulSU Food Innovation Center, Engr. Al Justin S. Geronimo, OIC Director of the Development and Innovation Office, Engr. Zedrick Farin, Project Leader of the Technological Hive of Regional Innovation for a Vibrant Ecosystem (THRIVE) Central Luzon, and Engr. John Derick Bernales and Engr. Lance Arojado from the BulSU Business Assistance for Research Acceleration and Sustainability - Technology Business Incubator (BARAS-TBI).

After the meeting, the group of DILG-III was toured around BulSU, specifically in the aforementioned offices where the two parties discussed possible collaborations in the near future.

The Regional Director also sampled some products of the FIC shared his inputs with the products of the Food Innovation Center.

DILG-III and BulSU has been partners in different projects since 2021 when the two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding for the Local Economic Development for Local Government Units (LED4LGUs) Project of the former.

Since then, the two organizations worked closely on other projects such as the DILG LED4LGUs training video and instructors' manual.
