BulSU-GADC KICKS-OFF END VAW CAMPAIGN WITH A VIRTUAL FLAG RAISING CEREMONY

"As a University, let us remain steadfast in fostering an environment that spark advocacies that help ensure a VAWC free institution and that promoting competence, progress and development has no discrimination and of course, available to everyone," stressed by Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero-Gascon, University President, in her Inspirational Message during the virtual flag raising ceremony.

The said virtual engagement spearheaded by the Gender and Development Center is a kick-off activity in preparation to the nationwide 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children which starts on November 25 until December 12, 2021. Since 2016, "VAW-free Community Starts with Me," was adopted to be used every year thereafter for five years. This year's advocacy campaign is centered on providing safe spaces for everyone as mandated by the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313) with the slogan "Filipino Marespeto; Safe Spaces, Kasali Tayo."

The program was participated by the members of the GAD Focal Point System: Dr. Felicida A. Eleogo, Dean-Hagonoy Campus (Opening Prayer), Dr. Maricel E. Sierto, GAD Coordinator, Bustos Campus (Panunumpa sa Watawat), Mr. Gilbert G. Benedictos, Supervising Admin Officer - Central Records Office (Panunumpa ng Kawani),

The program was participated by the members of the GAD Focal Point System: Dr. Felicida A. Eleogo, Dean-Hagonoy Campus (Opening Prayer), Dr. Maricel E. Sierto, GAD Coordinator, Bustos Campus (Panunumpa sa Watawat), Mr. Gilbert G. Benedictos, Supervising Admin Officer - Central Records Office (Panunumpa ng Kawani), Dr. Mary Ann P. Carranza, Executive Director , External Relations and Internationalization (Performance Pledge), Dr. Aimee Grace M. Madlangbayan, Dean-CHTM (Mission and Vision), Dr. Warlito M. Galita, Dean-CIT (Quality Policy), and Dr. Cecilia A. Geronimo, Vice-Chancellor for Instruction, Research and Extension (Statement of Purpose). The last part of the program covered a discussion on value focused for the week, which is humor and joyfulness by Dr. Remigio R. Musca, GAD Focal Person / Values Restoration Advocate.

The activity was also supported by the GAD Coordinators and other GADvocates. The CICT tech team paved the way to stream it live on Facebook. The said ceremony was attended by a total of more than 390 participants, zoom and FB attendees combined.
