Of Ball games and Advocacies: Bola Kontra Droga

Bulacan State University joined the efforts of Vice Governor Daniel R. Fernando and the Damayang Filipino Movement in a bid for a drug-free Bulacan as it launched the “Bola Kontra Droga” Campus Tour/Bulacan Tour (Basketball Shoot-out with Celebrities) on August 9, 2018 in cooperation with the Provincial Government of Bulacan.

In a statement made by the Vice Governor during the press conference held at the BulSU College of Information and Communication Technology (CICT) Audio Visual Room, he mentioned that this event is a contribution to the appeal of President Duterte for a drug-free Philippines.

Immediately after the press conference, the Celebrity All-Star Team, composed of television personalities like Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco, Mark Herras, Joross Gamboa, Matt Evans, the Vice Governor himself, and other celebrities, competed against the combined force of the BulSU Faculty Players and Congressman Jonathan R. Sy-Alvarado and his Bulacan Kuyas at the BulSU Activity Center. The event began with a ceremonial ball toss led by University President Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero-Gascon, Vice Governor Fernando, and Congressman Sy-Alvarado.
