By Gender and Development Center

The series of seminars discussing the benefits of responsible parenting culminated at the Main Campus on April 27, 2023. The project was conducted by the Gender and Development Center following in line with the recommendation of the University President, Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero-Gascon. The theme of the seminar is “RESPONSABLENG PAGKALINGA SA PAMILYA, TUNGO SA BUHAY NA KAAYA-AYA.” The last part of the series was in collaboration with the colleges on the main campus through the Chancellor for Main Campus, Dr. Romeo DC. Inasoria. The seminar was attended by more than 300 students, faculty, and parents of students from different colleges.

This first leg of the series was conducted at San Rafael Campus in the morning and Laboratory High School in the afternoon on March 23. Then, on March 24, the seminar was held on Meneses Campus in the morning and on Hagonoy Campus in the afternoon.

The second leg was conducted at the Bustos Campus on April 20, at the Sarmiento Campus on April 25, and ended at the Main Campus on April 27.

In all of the sessions, Bishop Jonel Milan, a life coach, and a family counselor provided inspiration and encouragement on how a family can benefit from responsible parenthood. Not only the parents were motivated, but the students and faculty members as well. The seminar series had gathered more than 1,000 participants from the first to the last schedule.

The effort and support of the College and Campus Deans and the GAD Coordinators have largely contributed to the overwhelming success of the said activity.
