The ceremony acts as a rite of passage for second-year Nursing students who have completed the requirements to begin their clinical duties as Nurses.

Present to lead the Capping and Pinning of the candidates were the Dean of BulSU-CON, Professor Magdalena D. Soyosa, together with the University President Dr. Cecillia S. Navasero-Gascon, the Guest Speaker Dr. Cyrill S. Consuelo, and other Faculty members of BulSU-CON

In her message, the university President left a call to action for the Nursing sophomores. “To my dear BSN Batch 2025 students, the much-coveted caps and pins are your acceptance to the nursing profession. Be advocates of skilled and quality healthcare. Wield grace, grit, and compassion to serve the frontlines of the Philippine healthcare system. May the lit candle serve as your lamp – a light that speaks of hope, a ray of hope that shines in the darkness, and out of this darkness, be the light that shines for others.” Expressed Dr. Gascon

Meanwhile, the Guest Speaker who is also the Chairman of the Committee on Cultural Heritage and Values of the Philippine Nurses Association, Dr. Cyrill Consuelo, congratulated the batch of candidates, challenged them to rise above the adversaries of their profession, and finally, urged them to serve the country instead of going abroad after they graduated.

To close the program, the Sophomores recited the Nightingales’ Pledge officiated by Dr. Gina Panganiban, Faculty of BulSU-CON.

A total of 240 BulSUan Nursing Students received their ceremonial caps and pins at the event.
