BulSU CAL Holds National Arts Month Celebration

The Bulacan State University's College of Arts and Letters (BulSU-CAL) celebrated this year's National Arts Month through the conduct of Sibol: Panahon ng Bagong Buhay on February 6, 2023. The opening program was held at the AMIN (CAL Grounds) and headed by the Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPeA).

The said event kicked off with the BPeA organization, Sining Sakbibi Ensemble's prepared plays, and performances following the event's concept of demonstrating hope and growth despite societal changes and development through art forms.

Different booths and programs prepared by various organizations and publications affiliated with the college were also part of the monthlong effort, which included the presentation of videos, fashion shows, workshops, performances, contests, and exhibits.

The event was led by Mr. Christian Dagsil, Program Head of the Bachelor of Performing Arts, and was attended by some teachers and students under various department programs.

Furthermore, during her speech, CAL's Dean Mary Bulaong expressed her support for the event by emphasizing the value and impact of the arts. "Ang Sining ay buhay, ang buhay ay sining; umaaliw, nagtuturo, bumabatikos, lumalaban," she noted.

This month's celebration is in preparation for CAL's upcoming 'Ani ng Sining' in April. The program aims to reawaken dormant spirits, rekindle students' talents, and ignite their love of the arts. Hence, the notion of 'Sibol' (sprout) preludes to 'Ani' (harvest), culminating in the arts of KAtaListas.
