BulSU Celebrates 118th Founding Year

In celebration of the 118 years of Bulacan State University, a mass for thanksgiving was held at the BulSU Valencia Hall, on December 5, 2022. It was led by Bishop Honesto Ongtioco, Bishop of Cubao. After the mass, student organizations and representatives from different colleges participated in the opening parade of the BulSU Foundation week. The University President, Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero-Gascon led the parade together with Executive Vice President, Dr. Teody C. San Andres, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Jaime P. Pulumbarit, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Edgardo M. Santos, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, Engr. Erwin DR. Magsakay, Chancellor for Main Campus, Dr. Romeo DC. Inasoria, and Chancellor for External Campus, Dr. Reynaldo S. Naguit.

The opening ceremony was attended by students from different colleges and other University Administrators. To start the ceremony, the Deans and representatives from the different colleges and external campuses were introduced. A prayer of thanksgiving followed by the national anthem was led by the BulSU Saring Himig afterward, the BulSU Angklung led the singing of the BulSU Hymn. The Executive Vice President, Dr. Teody C. San Andres gave his opening remarks. In his message, he acknowledged the efforts of everyone who gave their time for this celebration. It was followed by the presentation of the accomplishments of all the colleges spearheaded by their Deans.

A message of gratitude was pronounced by the University President, Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero-Gascon as she expressed her appreciation for everyone who participated in the opening ceremony. She also recognized the participation of Senator Win Gatchalian who is ably represented by Mr. Jojo Rosales. Concluding her speech, she remarked on a bible verse Psalm 78:72, “With upright heart, He shepherded them and guided them with His skillful hand.” Further, she stated that she is full of joy as the BulSU celebrates its foundation week again after two years.

Meanwhile, the oath-taking ceremony and the promotion of faculty through the NBC 461 and other personnel were led by the University President, Dr. Gascon. She extended her gratitude for their commitment and accountability to their profession. Different organizations performed as the program for this momentous occasion ended.
