The SAMBALARAN Camp Project

The SAMBALARAN (Sama Na Sa Pambayang Kaunlaran) Camp Project was successfully launched on October 23, 2017 at the Bulacan State University (BulSU) Valencia Hall, with a theme: Pamayanan Mo, Bida sa Pamantasan Ko. The brainchild of Dr. Victor C. Ramos, Director of the University Extension Services, SAMBALARAN is a community development summit which intends to invite selected 4Ps Beneficiaries in the province of Bulacan to undergo capability building training programs in various service areas for local governance which are found to need to be given considerable attention based on CSIS results (i.e. agriculture, tourism, governance and response, social welfare, support to education, etc.).

A total of 1,800 participants attended the opening program which included Provincial Administrator Dr. Danilo Faustino, Vice Mayor Gilbert Gatchalian of Malolos, Mayor Jessie P. De Jesus of Calumpit, Dir. Emma B. Gabuya of RSWD, Mrs. Rowena J. Tiongson of PSWD, Mrs. Emma Castillo Bajet, Dir. Romeo M. Alip of DepED, BulSU Administrators, as well as deans, faculty, students, social workers and 4ps beneficiaries.

The 2nd day at the University Hostel focused on Operation Project I.M.P.A.C.T., a Business Conference for People’s Socio-Economic Growth in Nation-building. On the 3rd and 4th day, the BulSU Main and Extension Campuses and colleges implemented and conducted capability building trainings and seminars that would enhanced the skills of 4P’s beneficiaries which can be applied in various areas of concerns. The final program “Gawad Samabalaran” was celebrated on the October 27, 2017.
