113 Years and Counting: BulSU Foundation Week

December 4, 2017 marked the opening of the 113th Founding Anniversary of Bulacan State University.

Organized by the College of Information and Communications Technology, the opening ceremony began at 8AM with a Holy Mass at the BulSU Activity Center while students from all colleges and satellite campuses gathered at the Malolos Convention Center in preparation for the grand parade. The students marched into the University’s 4th gate towards the activity center while displaying their banners, costumes, and Higantes that symbolize each of their respective colleges.

The event was also graced by the presence of Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado who delivered a speech on the rich history of the Institution along with the honor, prestige, and service that the BulSU graduates have brought upon the Province of Bulacan over the years. One of the highlights of the occasion was the awarding of winners from the Higantes competition in which the College of Engineering won 1st place with the College of Education and College of Architecture and Fine Arts winning 2nd and 3rd place respectively. The event was capped off by a ceremonial toast by the Administration and Faculty members and a balloon flying event at the University’s Rizal Park.

CCJE Campus Police Program Launch

The College of Criminal Justice Education officially launched its Campus Police Program along with the Pinning of Insignia and oath taking of its officers on the afternoon of December 4, 2017. Dean Reynaldo S. Naguit opened the ceremony with the University President Dr. Cecilia N. Gascon. The new program aims to act as an internship for the CCJE students as well as provide added order and security to the University premises.

A Glorious 20 Years of Music

The 20th Anniversary of the BulSU Symphonic Band was celebrated with a spectacular concert that showcased the band’s musical prowess on December 5, 2017 at the Valencia Hall. A slew of popular songs and musical themes from the 80’s, the 90’s, and 2000’s were played to the delight of the crowd throughout the event. Guest performances from the BulSU Saring Himig Chorale, BulSU Lahing Kayumanggi Dance Troupe, BulSU Entablado, BulSU Hyperdynamics, BulSU Cap Band, and the University’s very own President Dr. Cecilia N. Gascon added to the splendor of the concert.

Loyalty Awards 2017

The 113th Founding Anniversary of Bulacan State University was capped off by the 2017 Loyalty Awards held at the Valencia Hall on December 7, 2017 at four in the afternoon. This event recognizes the unwavering service that members of the Faculty, Administration, and Non-Academic Personnel throughout the University’s Storied History. Awards were given to those who have stayed with the University from 5 to 40 years along with the retirees and post-humus honors.
