BID@HAN: Another Bridge, Another Hub

The Office of the University President through the Communication's Office (CO-OP) initiated and launched BID@han: BulSU, Isyu/ideya, Dialogo at Agahan. ”Bida ang BulSU!” last June 27, BulSU Hostel.

By Communications Office

It is a breakfast-forum to open and to further strengthen the communication lines between the Office of the President (OP) with the Executive Committee (ExeCom) and the other departments of the University including the Non-Academic Personnel Association (NAPA), the Faculty Union Association (FAU), the student publications, the Colleges and Campuses and the Student Government.

This in turn provides a venue to share concerns that would directly influence the processes and development of the offices, departments, colleges, campuses and the University as a whole. It is also intended for bonding of the various stake holders as they share their viewpoints and concerns. During simple breakfast, questions and clarifications were asked and were answered mostly by the President.

The maiden episode carried the general theme “Engineering a progressive, knowledge-generating University, globally recognized, responsive to the needs of the community: Are we ”IN” or are we ”OUT”?“. Mr. Marlon B. Santos, the Director of the Communications Office of the University President tendered the opening remarks and the introduction to BID@han. While Ms. Tricia Ompoc, Faculty Assistant for the Communications Office introduced Series 1: The Road We are Taking: Strategic Plans in the Last Two Years. It was followed by the detailed sharing of Dr. Gascon on the Strategic Plans for Development in the Next Three Years.

The preparations and coverage of the event was done together with the Mass Communication Students Association (MCSA) of the College of Arts and Letters. BID@han will be aired on BulSU TV. Also present during the event was CLTV36 and 90.3 JCFM.

The event was capped off by the synthesis of Mr. Bong Cunanan, Faculty Assistant for the Communications Office quoting, towards the end, the call of the President that ”together we make a common stand of moving as one in the same direction - the direction of excellence!”
