Message of the University President; Groundbreaking Ceremony of the BulSU Five-Storey Research Building

The Hon. Aquilino “Kiko” Pimentel III, Senate President of the Republic of the Philippines, Hon. Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado, Governor of the Province of Bulacan, Hon. Daniel Fernando, Vice Governor of the Province of Bulacan, Hon. Christian Natividad, Mayor of the City of Malolos, Honorable Vice Mayor Engr. Gilbert Gatchalian, Vice Mayor of the City of Malolos, Honorable Members of the University Board of Regents, Members of the Academic and Administrative Councils, guests, friends, ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant day to everyone!

This is indeed a momentous day for the Bulacan State University, a wonderful dawn signaled by a significant event that would change the landscape of the Institution and its place in the educational and research arena.

Today, as we hold this Ground Breaking Ceremony of the Five-Storey Research and Technology Building, we plant the seeds of our dreams and aspirations for our University - primarily for our students and faculty; and as it progresses, to the people of Bulacan and for the benefit of the Region and ultimately, the hub of knowledge and science for the Philippines and the people of the world; today, as we look for a better tomorrow for Bulacan State University, we are realizing it already.

We aspire to take the central role of providing quality instruction, relevant researches and community engagements in the region and beyond. We intend to put premium importance on research-the very soul of higher education institutions-that will sustain instruction, guide extension services towards productive engagement to the wider public. And we intend to do these from the very core by putting up a center, a place for our vision to materialize, a hub where every dream and dreamer, every information and researcher, every bit of discovery and the discoverer find their connectedness to wisdom.

We, on our own, may find this herculean task difficult to accomplish, but with the aid of the Almighty and the generous support of our government leaders like Senator Pimentel, Governor Alvarado, Vice Governor Fernando, Mayor Natividad, Vice Mayor Gatchalian and people and institution dreaming for true progress and development of peoples, this herculean task cannot be bigger than us and will never be far from reality.

Ultimately, let me end my message by enjoining everyone to put our prayers and collaborative efforts together, and continue the writing of the great story that is, Bulacan State University.
