BulSU GADC's campaign started last March 7, 2016 as the office hosted the Weekly flag ceremony. The program highlighted the history of Women's Month, its annual observance and this year's theme. Dr. Cecilia A. Geronimo gave the overview of this year's celebration while Ms. Ma. Wilhelmina G. Dionicio delivered this year's activities which were held within the month.

Moreover, Dr. Cecilia N. Gascon graced the event by giving a short message to the attendees.

The event was also highlighted with the "Break the Chain" dance number led by some of the GAD FPS members.

A week after, GADC launched a Kick off activity called "Juana Walk" right after the weekly flag ceremony which was hosted by Ms. Mona Liza E. Mendoza, GAD College Coordinator from COPERS.

Various IEC Materials bearing this year's theme were distributed among the participants of the Fun Walk.

Students, Faculty, and NTP's joined the short walk graced by Dr. Cecilia N. Gascon and the rest of the VP's.

The walk was immediately followed up by a short message from Ma. Rosario Sy-Alvarado Mendoza, daughter of Congresswoman Marivic Sy-Alvarado.

The activity ended before noon with the distribution of meals for all of the participants.

A short break after the "Juana Walk" BulSU GADC proceeds with its "Seminar on Gender-Balance Leadership and Women's Issues and Concerns in Leadership Platforms" led by guest speaker Atty. Leavides Domingo-Cabarrubias, gender consultant of Asian Development Bank and UP Diliman Gender Studies.

BulSU GADC wrapped up its celebration of the National Women's Month with a culminating activity featuring the "Break the Chain: Dance Interpretation Contest".

Participated by 5 contestants from various colleges and satellite campuses of BulSU namely College of Information and Communication Technology, Laboratory High School, Meneses Campus, Sarmiento Campus and Bustos Campus, the event was a success with Meneses Campus emerging as winners followed by Laboratory High School and Bustos Campus for 2nd and 3rd place, respectively.

The theme resonates the call for gender-balance leadership and decision making position both in public and private sector; inclusion of women's concerns in leadership platforms and the government's development agenda; and capacitating and preparing women and girls to reach their ambitions.

The university's celebration of the National Women's Month is in line with the national mandate and activities headed by the Philippine Commission on Women.
