Library Hours:

Library Users:

  1. BSU  College of Home Economics students
  2. BSU administrators, faculty and personnel
  3. BSU regular employees
  4. Students, Faculty and staff of BSU satellite campuses with college library cards
  5. Visiting users with referral letters and a minimal fee of P20.
  6. Alumni with valid ID card

ACCESS TO THE COLLECTION
Arrangement

Books:  Arranged according to the Library of Congress Classification System
Fiction: Arranged by author notation.
Periodicals:   Arranged alphabetically by title and in chronological order.
Vertical File:  Arranged alphabetically by subject.
Theses:   Arranged by author notation and coding.

      GENERAL POLICIES:

  1. No student is allowed to enter the library without library card.  The library card is issued every 1st semester of the current school year upon presentation of his/her registration form and 1x1 ID picture.  Late registrants shall be fined an amount of P10.00.
  2. A library ID card is required in borrowing and returning of library materials, both print and non-print.
  3. A lost library card should be reported immediately to the librarian.  A fine of ten pesos (P20.00) will be imposed on the borrowers applying for duplicate lost library card.
  4. The library card is NON-TRANSFERABLE. Lending of this card subjects the owner to suspension of his/her library privileges.

LOAN PERIOD

  1. General reference books, theses, pamphlets, journals, magazines and other periodical materials, books in set must be READ within the library.
  2. Regular faculty members and employees of BSU may borrow a maximum of two (2) books for a month subject to renewal if not in demand.  Part-time faculty may borrow a maximum of two (2) books for one week.
  3. Reserved books are to be borrowed for room use for two (2) hours, and may be renewed for an hour if there are no prior requests from other users.  Reservation for reserve books is on first-come, first-served basis.
  4. College of Home Economics students may borrow two books at a time. A book with more than three copies for two days and a fiction books for a week.  It will be subject to renewal if there are no prior requests.
  5.  Books with only two copies may be charged out overnight starting at 4:00 pm. and should be returned at 8:00 in the morning.
  6. Audio-visual materials may be borrowed for classroom use by presenting a letter of request at least one day before its date of use.
  7. Photocopying of books and other library materials should be returned after 15 minutes.
  8. Borrowing service is at 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon.

FINES

  1. General Circulation

    P3.00/ day for students
    P5.00/day for faculty members/personnel
  • Reserved Books and other Library materials borrowed for photocopying
    P2.00/hour for students and faculty members/personnel
  • Books borrowed for overnight use
    P2.00/hour for students and faculty members/personnel
  • Audio-visual materials/equipment
    P5.00/hour-P20.00/day for students and faculty member/personnel
  • No delinquent borrower is allowed to use the library and its resources unless he/she settled all accounts due to the library.
  • Library privileges for students who have been delinquent or found violating library policies on three (3) consecutive occasions in a given semester shall be suspended for a month.

LOST BOOKS

  • A lost book while on loan must be reported immediately to the librarian.  It must be paid/replaced after a week it was reported lost.  It must be paid according to the value determined by the librarian or replaced with the same title with additional processing cost.

DAMAGED MATERIALS

  • Library materials damage beyond normal usage must be replaced with additional cost or be paid according to the value determined by the librarian.
  • Missing materials/pages in any borrowed library materials must be reported immediately to the librarian.  The last who borrowed the library materials must be accountable/responsible for the damaged.

PHOTOCOPYING
Photocopying of theses is strictly prohibited.

BAGGAGE COUNTER

  • Library users shall be required to deposit their belongings to the counter as soon as they enter the library.  Depository tags/numbers are to be given to the users. Lost tags/numbers shall be replaced at cost.

LIBRARY PROPERTY

  • Theft, defacement, mutilation or destruction of library property is subject to disciplinary action.
  • Clientele caught taking out library materials without permission shall be sanction.

CONDUCT WITHIN THE LIBRARY

  • Library patrons are requested to conduct themselves in the manner that will not disturb the peace and order of the library.  SMOKING, EATING, SLEEPING, LITTERING AROUND are strictly prohibited.
