The Bulacan State University is envisioned to provide relevant education programs responsive to the dynamically changing domestic and international environment. Its educational programs are organized in such a way that it will be in line with the national development efforts of the governments. The creation of the College of Home Economics (CHE) responds to the central goal of the national development which is sustainable human development. Sustainable human development is the development of people, both as the ultimate end of development and as a means for attaining that goal.

The College of the Home Economics help realize the vision of the Bulacan State University to become the center of educational development in Bulacan and in the whole region. The institute now offer two full-term courses: Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Mission

The Colleges of Home Economics shall provide training and instructions anchored to the different areas of home economics accentuating on the formation of wholesome values and attitudes, skills and knowledge that adequately adjust to the ever changing needs of the society.

Vision

The College of Home Economics of Bulacan State University is envisioned to become one of the centers for excellence in the different areas of Home Economics in the country in the new millenium using high technological approach in its courses. It shall become one of the centers for development of high moral value, highly dynamic, vibrant and service oriented individuals who can produce desirable changes for national development and become the forerunners in the field of research and extension services. Likewise, it shall produce highly competent individuals who are globally competitive.

GOALS

The College of Home Economics aims to:

  1. Pursue institutional programs by delivering basic, advanced and innovative educational services;
  2. Continuously develop, implement and monitor instruction and academic programs to ensure graduates acquire the knowledge and skills required by the industry.
  3. Instill desirable work and moral values while imbued a strong sense of nationalism among the graduates;
  4. Establish functional and relevant linkages with external stakeholders.

OBJECTIVES

A. Specific Objectives of Home Economics

  1. Expose the academic community to new trends in the field through seminars, training, symposia, competitions and related activities;
  2. Equip students with knowledge and skills to enable them to embark on a meaningful and rewarding career in Home Economics as practitioners, teachers, entrepreneurs and leaders;
  3. Develop a new breed of Home Economics graduates; responsive to the challenges of the changing global economy;
  4. Mobilize resources of the college to help enhance the quality of life of the people in the larger community through extension activities and volunteer programs;
  5. Validate and generate knowledge and technology through research and development undertakings;
  6. Establish cooperative educational agreements/partnerships with progressive educational institutions, related industries and association both local and overseas.

B. Specific Objectives of Hotel and Restaurant Management

  1. To provide outstanding learning experiences that equip the students for successful hospitality service career;
  2. To enrich and deepen knowledge of skills of students on the various phases of operations in the hospitality industry;
  3. Maximize the utilization of institutional, community and industry resources to enhance theoretical knowledge and practical skills through immersion and apprenticeship programs;
  4. Establish and maintain close linkages with industry leaders, institutions and other external stakeholders;
  5. Develop dynamic and sustainable faculty and resource development schemes to ensure constant program competitiveness;
  6. Mobilize resources of the college to help enhance the quality of life of the people in the larger community through extension activities and volunteer programs; and
  7. Improve instruction through research-generated knowledge and technology and its application
